Volunteering matters for young people in Norfolk
Could you support a young person with special educational needs? Members of the Norfolk Christian community are invited to volunteer their time and skills to help local young people.
Volunteering Matters Futures Project enables young people with special educational needs and disabilities to play an active role in their community with the support of trained volunteers. The project aims to increase the confidence of the young people by offering them the opportunity to try new activities and develop new networks.
Do any of the following appeal to you....Supporting a young person to volunteer in a charity shop, or outdoors with gardening or conservation activities, or serving refreshments to residents in a care home, or something else – the list of possibilities is endless!
Let Volunteering Matters know your particular interest and they will aim to match you with a young person who will benefit from your own enthusiasm and experience.
No specific experience is needed to become a volunteer but patience, the ability to listen and a sense of humour are all useful skills. In return for your time you will receive out of pocket expenses, relevant training and lots of support from the staff team.
