Norwich church hands out 50 free Christmas hampers

Over 50 Christmas hampers packed with festive treats and toiletries have been donated by church members at Gateway Vineyard Norwich to be given away free to local families in need.

Jo Yallop, from Gateway, said: “We made up 52 hampers for families we have connections with through the church and others through the Leeway Domestic Violence and Abuse Services charity.
“As we look forward to Christmas we wanted to find ways to bless people we have connection with through the church and in the city. The Christmas Hampers is one of the ways we do this.”
It is part of the church’s Compassion at Christmas programme which includes giving out presents through its Norwich Foodbank distribution centre, donating clothes for children through its Growkids project and making up shoeboxes for children in need overseas as part of Operation Christmas Child.
