Sheringham church to host choral concert

The Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society will join forces with North Norfolk Sinfonia in St Peter’s Church, Sheringham, later this month for what promises to be a stunning choral concert.

LisaCassidy 581CFThe combined performance will provide a rare opportunity to hear Felix Mendelssohn’s splendid Symphony No 2 Hymn of Praise (Lobgesang) performed in English. Directed by David Ballard, the choir and orchestra will be joined by the expressive and versatile Norfolk coloratura soprano Lisa Cassidy, right, together with Norwich based tenor William Falconer and mezzo-soprano Charli Andrews. The programme which also includes Haydn's Te Deum in C, and Mozart's Regina Coeli, which provides a perfect reflective evening for the eve of Advent.
Bob Cumber, from the choral society, said “This is the first time these two local community groups have collaborated with a performance which is a very exciting venture so we are keen to attract a wide audience as the Christmas season approaches.”
