Yarmouth radio shows “Way To Go” to Jesus
On-line radio station “Harbour Radio”, based in Great Yarmouth, has an hour long show every Thursday at 4pm called Way To Go. It's music and themes focus on Jesus and how following his 'Way' can make a difference to our lives and our locality.
The programme features a mix of music, lots of gospel and also a feature called Non-Religious Hymn Book where people share songs that are not designed for church but have the spiritual edge to them. There is also the opportunity to share information about what is happening in our churches that might interest people
Donna Dodson is the presenter. She is a member of St Mary Magdalene Church and has also been a teacher and a Baptist Minister. She says “This programme is aimed at people who are not necessarily engaged in church life. Most people in our borough still consider themselves Christian and even more believe in God, more still have some sort of spiritual life. So 'Way to Go' is a gentle encouragement to explore what being a disciple of Jesus might look like for all of us”
Harbour Radio is also going to explore doing a sort of 'Thought for the Day' slot each day. Donna is hoping to give the programme away to people one week at a time to record 5 minute slots that can be uploaded into the days programming. It will be important to make these relevant, sensitive and where possible fun. The programmes also need a title. Thought for the Day is taken!
If you are interested in suggesting a song for the Non-Religious Hymn Book, want to be interviewed about an event, or might be interested in doing daily slots for a week, or have a title idea then please contact Donna via:
