Citizens Advice at North Norfolk Foodbanks

Cromer foodbank logo 385 ARThe Cromer and District Foodbank has announced that Citizens Advice advisers will soon be operating at three of its distribution centres in North Norfolk.

Since last December, Citizens Advice Mid Norfolk have provided a drop-in service at the foodbank’s distribution centre in Sheringham, and from the end of February Norfolk Citizens Advice volunteers will also provide a drop-in service at the foodbank’s distribution centres in Cromer and Stalham.
Since it was founded in 2012 the Cromer and District Foodbank has built up a strong support network for local people in financial crisis, working with over 70 partner agencies to offer food and advice across 200 square miles of North Norfolk.
“Citizens Advice plays a crucial role for foodbank clients, helping to identify and resolve the causes behind each crisis,” says Ella King, the foodbank’s project manager. “Both Citizens Advice Mid Norfolk and Norfolk Citizens Advice have been working closely with us to help provide easier access for clients within a caring supportive environment. The service is available to all comers. You don’t have to have a foodbank voucher to attend – but if you need one, the CA adviser can issue it.”
The Cromer and District Foodbank covers an area of 200 square miles and operates distribution centres in Holt, Sheringham, Cromer, Aylsham, North Walsham and Stalham. In the last financial year, it met 958 requests for food, distributing 24 tonnes of food, enough to feed 2,184 people for three days. Read our previous story about the foodbank here.
