Norfolk cinema showing God's Not Dead film

GodsNotDeadAmerican film God's Not Dead is showing in Great Yarmouth from this Friday after a local church helped persuade Hollywood Cinema that it would be worth showing.

A film from the US called God's Not Dead is currently doing the rounds in the UK and has had a lot of coverage recently on UCB radio. Unfortunately it had not been playing in the East of England - until now.

Hollywood Cinema in Great Yarmouth were considering showing God's Not Dead, and a timely phone call from Simon Head, a member of Kingsgate Community Church, Great Yarmouth convinced them that showing it in Great Yarmouth would be a good idea - and it will be showing from this Friday May 9

Synopsis: A philosophy professor starts his course by telling his students that God Is Dead, and there is no point even discussing the issue. One student who is a Christian takes umbrage at this statement and is challenged by the professor to a debate. The results are interesting.

Nick Cowan from Kingsgate Community Church said, "The important thing about this movie is that it engages at an intellectual level and deals with some of the more obvious objections that people have with Christianity, so if you know someone who would benefit from this sort of challenge, it's a good one to take them to."

"This is of course, a great opportunity for the Christian community to show that if the cinema puts on events like this, then there is a market for it, and also a great example of God using the right person at the right time to help decisions to be made that are kingdom-oriented.
