Prestigious award for Mike's photographic faith

MikeMuscroft2009: Norwich Christian photographer, Mike Muscroft, has just been awarded the prestigious Licentiate of The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain for his creative work.

The award was made after an assessment of Mike’s portfolio by a highly qualified Panel of Fellows of the Society following his recent completion of the NCFE A Level Digital Photography course.

Mike’s work combines great photography with Biblical scriptures and is all available to buy on his website www.fotoconcept.co.uk.

He said: “The Royal Photographic Society (www.rps.orgwas founded in 1853 to promote the Art and Science of Photography, a mission it continues to this day. To achieve a distinction award from them is a great achievement and recognised internationally.”

Mike, a former biker, was converted to Christ through Jingles, who was at the time leading the Norfolk Christian Motorcyclists Association branch.

“I take the pictures because I have since become disabled with a neurological illness that affects my walking and mobility and so had to give up work,” explained Mike. “As I had always done photography since a young man it seemed a logical semi-pro career path to centre upon.

“I also like to give something back, so being able to capture God’s beautiful creation in a digital format, either as photography or art, and to share it with others is my way of spreading the Good News.

Mike attends Sprowston Methodist church on Wroxham Road, where he met his wife some 12 years ago.

Do you appreciate our service and stories?

The Network Norwich & Norfolk website has been published for over 13 years now and we have an established team of professional journalists covering the activities, organisations and churches which make up the county’s Christian community. Our whole purpose is to support that community by daily providing accurate, unbiased stories and features.

To pay for that service, we rely on our partner organisations, advertisers and readers to, in turn, support us financially. We want to keep the website free for everyone to access and continue to be able to pay for writers to produce the content you can enjoy every day.

We would like to ask you to consider supporting our work and suggest you might want to make a small regular donation of just £1 a week and become one of our 100 Friends, or a larger one-off or annual amount.

Because we are part of a registered charity we can reclaim Gift Aid on your donations if you are a tax-payer.
