Norwich church stages free family fun day and barbecue

Around 1000 burgers and sausages were served to over 400 people who turned up to enjoy a free Family Fun Day and Barbecue at Thorpe High School at Thorpe St Andrew, on Sunday September 24, put on by a team from Gateway Vineyard Norwich.

VineyardFunDayFlag500The annual free community event has been staged by the church for almost ten years and this year included a free barbecue and desserts, bouncy castle, face painting, children’s activities and games, bookstall and clothes stall.

There were also circus workshops and a circus show put on by the Foolhardy Folk Circus.

Geoff Lawton, from Gateway Vineyard said: “We stage the event purely to give the local community a free afternoon of food and entertainment. Hundreds of people turn up every year and have a great time.”
