When Rev Dr Alistair Petrie and his wife Marie, who ministers with him, first came to Norwich in 2015, they promised to come back for at least three visits. This was not going to be a flying visit, but a commitment to walk with the Christian community in Norwich and Norfolk over a period of time as we work together towards the goal of societal transformation. He has proved a man of his word, with his third visit planned for July 30 through to August 6.
For many years in both the United Kingdom and Canada, Alistair served as senior pastor in diverse city church settings. He now serves as the Executive Director of Partnership Ministries, a global ministry that teaches the principles and relevance of the Gospel and its relationship to the Marketplace. Partnership Ministries is positioned as a ministry for the 21st Century Church and combines prayer and research in order to prepare Communities, Cities, Nations, and the Marketplace for lasting revival, authentic transformation and the release of Kingdom culture. Many people may remember the Transformation Videos produced by George Otis Jnr. in the 1990s. Alistair was part of that team.
This year the plan is to build on what has been achieved in the previous two visits, starting with a gathering on Sunday 30th July at Wroxham Road Methodist Church. On the last night of his visit in 2016, there was a real sense of breakthrough coming, so the intention is to start off from where the meeting finished last time.
This will be followed by prayer walking in both Lowestoft (Tuesday) and Norwich (Wednesday. Meet at House of Prayer, Fishergate at 10.00 am). The highlight of his visit is a two day conference at the House of Prayer on Friday and Saturday, starting at 10.00 am. Alistair will be leading us through the importance of “The Fear of the Lord”. This will be a combination of teaching and implementation through times of prayer.
On Sunday 6th August, he will be guest preacher at St Stephens, Norwich at both the 10.00 am and 11.30 am services. The final meeting will be at the House of Prayer that evening, starting at 6.30 pm
