Dying Matters at Aylsham Church
Tomorrow, Aylsham Parish Church is holding a day discussing funerals, death and grief; exploring all those questions we find it hard to ask. Anyone is welcome to come along.
Working with local Funeral Directors, Ivan Fisher Funerals, Aylsham Parish Church hopes to encourage people to being to talk about this often-taboo subject. The day will run from 10am to 3pm tomorrow, Friday May 19.
Entitled Dying Matters, this day will include:
• Horse Drawn Hearse
• 'Grave Talk' Cafe
• Flowers Arrangements
• Will Writers
• Advice, guidance & support
Revd Canon Andrew Beane, Team Rector said, "If we truly want to celebrate someone’s life we need to encourage people to talk to their closest relatives or friends about their wishes. If they can't talk, then perhaps write down the type of music, hymns and readings that they think would help those grieving. Some of the best funeral services I've taken are those that have been pre-planned, so that the congregation celebrating someone's life knows that the words spoken, music played and hymns sung are true reflections of their loved ones."
