Norwich Gospel musicians stage fundraising concert

Gospel musicians Ike and Linda Nnene, from King's Community Church, are organising The Power and Beauty Gospel Concert in Norwich on August 19, to raise awareness of blood cancers following the death of their sister from lymphoma.

Ike and Linda Nnene have a passion to bring gospel music to the city of Norwich.  And next month the passion will be fulfilled as they stage The Power and Beauty Gospel Concert to raise awareness of blood cancers following their sister, Uche's death from lymphoma.

Ike Nnene is a GP at Thorpewood Medical Group in Norwich and Linda Nnene is a teacher at the City of Norwich School. They are gospel music artistes, singer songwriters and worship leaders, seeking to bring their music to a wider audience by hosting this special event.

The Power and Beauty Gospel Concert (the name Ike means power and Linda means beauty) will be held at the Blake Studio at Norwich School on Saturday, August 19 at 7pm

A dynamic band of Christian musicians and vocalists from London and Norwich will support them including worship musicians from SOUL Church, Tom Tarbuck on guitar and Matt Hubbard on bass, and Elizabeth Humphries on violin from Norwich Central Baptist Church.

The concert will be held in memory of their sister, Uche Abanulo, a professor of Engineering, who died from lymphoma at the age of 35 years in November leaving three young children.

Ike and Linda hope to raise awareness of blood cancers and raise support for the charities Bloodwise, Lymphoma Research and Nelson’s Journey - a charity providing bereavement support to children in Norfolk.

Ike Nnene said: “The concert is loaded with songs to uplift, encourage and inspire. Our songs are powerful and deliver truths based on our relationship with God and how we were created to live lives of fullness and victory.

"We will be releasing some new wonderful songs which are sure to bless all listeners. At the concert we will also be presenting a nice reworking of some great worship and gospel music songs which promises to be awesome.”

Tickets to the concert are £12 and available from Eventbrite.

All donations to the charities will be gratefully received and can be made via Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving.
