Norwich Cathedral recitals, concert and broderers 

Norwich Cathedral is hosting a range of events during August including piano and organ recitals, a Broderers’ Guild Workshop and a concert by the Cawston Brass Band. 

Organ Recital performed by Daniel Moult – August 9

Concert organist, Daniel Moult will perform a summer evening recital from 7pm-8pm in the Cathedral Nave.  Daniel is the Associate Head of Organ at the Birmingham Conservatoire, a trustee of and examiner for the Royal College of Organists and a tutor for the RCO Academy. The programme will include music by Bach, Mendelssohn, Elgar, Whitlock, Leighton and Farrington.  No ticket is required - simply turn up. Admission is free with a retiring collection.

Piano recital with Charles Timberlake – August 12

Pianist and composer Charles Timberlake returns to Norwich Cathedral for an informal lunchtime piano recital from 11am – 1pm, with his unique blend of the sacred and the secular. Expect a mix of compositions, hymns and popular ballads to soothe the soul and in celebration of his sixtieth birthday. The recital will take place in the Nave - free to attend, all welcome.

Broderers' Guild Workshop Tour – August 16

Take a 'behind the scenes' tour of the Norwich Cathedral Broderers' Guild and find out about how they care for and repair ecclesiastical textiles, as well as design and make new frontals and vestments.  The tour, which costs £5, will take place in the Broderers' Guild Workshop above Prior's Hall from 2pm – 3.15pm.

Cawston Brass Band in the Cloisters – August 20

Cawston Band presents a concert in the Cloisters of Norwich Cathedral from 12pm – 2pm. Cawston & District Silver Prize Band, to give them their original title, were formed in 1886 in the village of Cawston 11 miles north of Norwich. The Band prides itself on its reputation for versatility and quality, competing nationally on a regular basis, whilst also maintaining a very high level of concert performance. 

This is a free concert.
