Drama, music, bread-making at Norwich Cathedral

Events at Norwich Cathedral include the Shakespeare festival, Royal Drawing School exhibition, bread-making session and music recitals.

Norwich Cathedral's annual Shakespeare Festival - July 14 and 15


Next week, on Friday and Saturday evenings (7.00pm) the UK’s premier all male theatre company, The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, return to perform Shakespeare’s most hilarious farce, The Comedy of Errors, amidst the beautiful open air surroundings of the Cloisters. There are still some tickets available for this funny, magical and fast-paced production of one of Shakespeare’s best comedies. Tickets are priced £20 for adults and £18 for concessions and can be booked online here or by calling the Norwich Theatre Royal box office on 01603 630000.

An exhibition of art from the Royal Drawing School’s Young Artists programme for 10 - 18 year olds, featuring work from the Norwich Drawing Club based at St George’s Works and led by local artist, Doug Farthing. Open Friday 7 - Saturday 15 July in the Cathedral Hostry.

On Saturday 29 July (10.00am - 1.00pm) Norwich Cathedral are hosting a bread making session in Prior's Hall, with the results being used at a special Sung Eucharist in Celebration of Lammas (when we give thanks for the beginning of the wheat harvest and for the gift of bread) the following day.

Wyre Forest Young Voices will give a lunchtime recital in the Nave from 1 – 2pm.
Wyre Forest Young Voices is the youth choir of Kidderminster Choral Society. WFYV was formed in 1997, under the direction of Geoff Weaver. Supported by accompanist Charlotte Jones and vocal coach Suzzie Vango, the choir now has over 60 members, aged 11 – 18 years.

Join us for the second of our summer evening organ recitals when Martin Bambauer from Trier, Germany, performs.

Programme to include music by Guilmant, Vierne, Lemmens, Saint-Saens, Parry, Bambauer (Improvisation) and Farrington.
 
No ticket required - simply turn up. Admission free, with a retiring collection.
