Cromer foodbank’s first summer fete
The Cromer and District Foodbank will be holding its first Summer Fete in Sheringham on Saturday August 20, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Since it was founded in 2012 the foodbank has built up a strong support network for local people in financial crisis, working with over 90 partner agencies to offer food and advice across 200 square miles of North Norfolk, with distribution centres in Holt, Sheringham, Cromer, Aylsham, North Walsham and Stalham. In the last financial year, it met 1040 requests for food, distributing 25 tonnes of food, enough to feed 2484 people for three days.
“The fete will be a fun family day out that is open to everyone” says Ella King, Project Manager “and is specifically designed to be affordable for families, including free entry for all. We hope to raise funds and increase awareness of the need for the Foodbank in the North Norfolk area”
The fete will include; live music, traditional games and stalls, BBQ, Bric a Brac, tea, coffee, cake jams and there will be some impressive raffle prizes including – a family day out to Amazona zoo, a meal for four at Salthouse Dun Cow, and a Cromer Country Club swimming day pass.
St Joseph's church is on Cromer Road in Sheringham, NR26 8RT. The fete will run from 12 noon to 4pm.
