Guest speakers for Norfolk worship meetings
The Filling Station has invited some inspiring speakers for their next two monthly worship meetings in Swanton Novers.
On Easter Bank Holiday Monday, March 28, Rev'd Martin and Maureen Down, pictured right, will be speaking. Martin was a Mid-Norfolk vicar for 20 years and, with Maureen, they were pioneers of rural renewal and refreshment from the early 1990s. They were also the initiators of the annual “Living Water” events at the Showground and the Fountain of Life Anglican Fellowship. Following retirement to Oxfordshire Martin co-leads the Witney Filling Station meetings. Martin’s talk focuses on the outworking of the Easter message.
The guest speaker on Monday, April 25 will be Dave Elverson, whose ‘day-job’ is working as a management consultant. Married to wife Holly, they have two daughters aged 11 and 5. Dave and Holly lead ‘Global Legacy’ in the East of England and are currently in the process of launching Kingdom Life Church in Norwich. ‘Global Legacy’ is the relational network from Bethel Church in Redding California, which has the aim of supporting, encouraging and connecting leaders who want to see revival.
Dave has recently had a book published, co-authored with Paul Manwaring from Bethel, entitled Creating a Culture of Overflow, which looks at how to create cultures to free people to live life to the full as Jesus intended. Dave’s talk will focus on the way we think and how some of our habitual patterns of thought have such an impact on the way we view God, the way He thinks about us and the way we think about ourselves. This can either free us to live life to the full or constrain our ability to dream with God and see those dreams turn into reality.
The Filling Station, which was born out of the Church of England in the west country, has grown exponentially in terms of venues opening all over the United Kingdom and continues to serve and refresh both Church leaders, congregations and more importantly to open the eyes of those who are seeking answers to the meaning of life through the Christian faith. The Filling Station is helping to bring unity amongst believers from across the whole Church spectrum.
The Swanton Novers meetings are usually on the last Monday of every month, and everyone is very welcome to come along at 7.00 for 7.30pm, with coffee, cake, chat, excellent worship, an informative talk and prayer.
The venue is: Swanton Novers Village Hall, St Giles Road, Swanton Novers, Melton Constable, NR24 2RB.
