Free football fun on offer in North Norfolk from Christian League

YouthCup12U430The Norfolk Christian Football League (NCFL) is set to run a free, fun and competitive Saturday morning football taster session at Blakeney Village Hall on Saturday November 8 in its latest bid to kick-start Christian youth football in North Norfolk.

The session will run from 10am to 12 noon and is aimed at children in school year 4 and 5.

Children, Youth & Family Missioner, Simon Fenn, has teamed up with Tim Stapleford from the NCFL and some of his co-workers at the Jenny Lind Park football project in Norwich.

Tim said: “We are specifically targeting initial work with the Pilgrim Federation of Church of England schools (Walsingham, Blakeney, Hindringham and Kelling) in North Norfolk. We are proposing one or two Saturday mornings of U10s football either side of Christmas - with a view to the North Norfolk Church of England Primary schools, in particular, being able to engage with the initiative in the long term."

Simon Fenn said: "I think this is a fantastic opportunity for building stronger links between the Church and the wider community, and through the love of football promote the Christian faith in a positive way. I hope children and their families will pop along on Saturday to have a friendly kick about, make some new friends and enjoy a cuppa. Boys and girls of all abilities are welcome."

The morning is open to girls as well as boys of all footballing abilities and children should be accompanied by a parent or carer.
