Street Pastors to launch in east of Norwich

ENYPStreetPastorsLogoDEC 2007: Street Pastors will be launched across the east of Norwich in the early part of 2008 by the Christian East Norwich Youth Project and is looking for volunteer pastors.

The move comes in response to a need identified by the local Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel.

Senior ENYP youth worker Danny Doran-Smith said: “This is an exciting development as people are given the opportunity to be Christ on the streets, meeting people where they are and sharing God’s love.   If you are over 18 and feel that this may be something you would like to be a part of then we would love to hear from you. There are training dates in January and February, with informal interviews taking place on December 17 at Witard Road Baptist Church from 7.30pm

“We are also looking for people to be involved in praying for the work. Part of this vision is for prayer bases to be set up across the area in homes and churches to pray for the Street Pastors when they are on the streets. Please get in touch if this is something you would like to be involved in.”

The ENYP will be linking up with the established Norfolk Street Pastors group who already patrol the streets of Norwich city centre on Friday and Saturday nights.

Anyone interested in getting involved is asked to contact Danny at ddoransmith@enyp.org.uk or 07912 464883 by December 10 and not to just turn up on the night.

A CRB form will need to be completed after the interview which will last around 10-15mins.
